A classic Dolomite hut-to-hut route: sharp limestone peaks, short technical passages, long descents and a rifugio almost every evening.

A Dolomite classic with dramatic peaks, rifugi, and one of the best beauty-to-logistics ratios in the Alps.

Quick orientation of the route line, start, end and elevation profile.
Elevation data for stage points is indicative, derived from Copernicus DEM GLO-90 after geocoding stage locations via OSM; problematic points are manually verified from map or trail sources. Verify against the specific GPX/map before your trip.

Budget mainly from rifugi with half-board. The main risk isn't cost, it's hut availability between Braies, Lagazuoi and Civetta.
July to September; early season may have snow on the higher passes, August is typically the busiest.

Hikers confident in mountain terrain who want a big alpine experience without glacier gear.
8–11 days. A slower pace allows time for Cinque Torri, Lagazuoi and Civetta; a faster pace increases pressure on hut reservations.
The start at Lago di Braies is reached by bus from Dobbiaco; the end in Belluno is served by train. Book rifugi months in advance.
Food is mainly available at rifugi. Bigger resupply makes sense around Cortina, Alleghe/Pescul or at road passes.
No special permit for through-hikers, but overnight stays and any bivouacking must follow park and rifugi regulations.
