GR221 is a compact and visually striking trek that works well for a week-long trip. It requires hut planning but rewards with a combination of mountains, sea and Mediterranean villages.

The cheaper Consell de Mallorca refugios fill fast. Hotels in Valldemossa, Sóller and Pollença will raise the budget.
